Course Format and Duration:

One-month course.

Note: To be awarded the qualification, you must first have attained your NQF2 Nature Site Guide (FGASA), Rifle competency (PFTC) and Advanced Rifle Handling (ARH), and Wilderness First Aid Level 2 certificates. If not, you can still participate in the whole course but can’t receive certification. 

The course includes:

  • One-month course

  • FGASA Apprentice Trails Guide Mentorship Programme* (previously FGASA Trails Guide Back-Up)

  • Hours on foot

  • Big Five encounters and other essential experience
